Desktop, DIY Digital Fabrication Promises New Ways To Engage Your Students Using STEM Sensibilities, Design Thinking, Electronics Fab, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) & Micro Manufacturing. Come See How…
Do you want to give your students a fascinating new way to connect with STEM concepts? Are you trying to find a way to teach modern design and manufacturing techniques? Or work complex and customizable electronics into your class? Have you heard people talking about desktop manufacturing and wondered what the *#&% they were talking about?
Join us for an evening exploring the wide world of computer-aided design (CAD) and digital machining with Martine Neider from the Other Machine Co. She’ll be showing off the Othermill, a 3-axis milling machine for custom circuits and intricate objects. AND—as an additional attendee benefit—Martine will address your non-Othermill questions about making things in class or at home.
Martine is head of operations for Other Machine Co., an accessible machine tools company. After curating exhibits at the International Center of Photography, she trained as a machinist at the kite-energy firm Makani Power (recently acquired by Google[x]). Last year, Martine began designing machines and high school curricula for digital design at Otherlab and then “kickstarted” the Othermill—a desktop, three-axis, CNC milling machine.
Attendance is limited to 30 people. Please RSVP by booking your seat here. This NYC3DP.com booking system will then email advise that you have successfully reserved a seat OR that you on the wait list.
